Besides talking up his new Lone Gunmen series, Chris Carter also commented briefly on the future of The X-Files.
While talking to Ian Spelling's Insider Trek & Sci Fi, Carter spoke of a ninth season, saying, "My preference is to do The X-Files next year if we can find a way to do it right, to make it creatively interesting for ourselves. I think the stories are out there to be told, but when you get to the ninth year of a show you need resources to keep doing the same good work. The costs go up.
"So my preference is do The X-Files next year, but there are things that need to be hammered out between all the participants in the process."
